The house was as expected and suited our needs and any problems that cropped up were dealt with speedily by North East Escapes , who were very quick and helpful answering our questions before we arrived. Excellent customer service!

Nice house but they need to do something about the stale smoke smell Positive: Everything seemed pretty new Beds were very comfortable. The place was clean Negative: There was a stale smoke smell throughout the house that really spoiled my stay there

The house itself is lovely, nice and spacious. Kitchen was good, had all we needed for 3 adults. Shower was good pressure and had a shelf to put shampoos etc. However, whilst we were there we experienced a lot of issues. The lock for the front door wouldn't work multiple times and we had to go round the back to come in via the back door. The light fixture in the downstairs bathroom fell off onto my husbands head! Huge H&S issue. Also, we had a power cut one of the nights as the upstairs hallway light switch was wobbly but we didn't realise and went to switch off the light and it tripped the whole house. We then spent nearly an hour in the dark, with a nervous dog, trying to locate the fuse board. By this time it's nearly midnight and we have to get up early to drive 7 hours home the next day! We were not impressed. Beds in double room very soft and unusable. Husband and I woke up very sore each day as beds are so uncomfortable. Sofa was rock solid and also very uncomfortable.

We felt right at home when we got in. Very comfortable and warm home (despite the very cold weather in southshield). Very clear instruction and very responsive host. Very well equipped with necessary utensils and some basic items to get us going for the first (tea, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, laundry products ect). We had a lovely stay and will definitely come back if we are ever in southshield again.
