My husband and I enjoyed a last minute booking to get away together ahead of our 10 year anniversary. We could not recommend this place more. Corbridge is a beautiful setting - so idyllic and alive with friendly locals. A very pet friendly area, we’d love to come back with our pup! We’d like to thank our hosts for facilitating such a restorative stay.
Fijn plekje in Corbridge Positive: Goed uitgerust, proper, goede bedden, goede ligging Negative: Geen leeslamp en nachtkastje, geen douchezeep, buiteninrichting niet top
Sweet cottage in the centre of the town. For 2 weeks, was ideal Positive: Location perfect, calm house, small but functional. Kitchen well equipped, tv had all the expected/needed channels and worked without stress... neighbours great in the (shared) courtyard. They are also dog friendly. Negative: More privacy preferred in one room (easy fix) and a solution to parking. Little bit more practical info for our stay would have been a comfort.
We had a lovely time in this little cottage - perfect for a base to enjoy Corbridge, or explore the surrounding areas including Hexham and Hadrian's Wall. From the cosy lounge to the bijou kitchen, the comfortable bedrooms and the secluded courtyard, we had everything we needed. Added bonus, you're just a few steps from lovely pubs, cafe's and even a real old fashioned greengrocer and bakery. As others have said, the stairs are steep but manageable. Parking on the street is a bit hit or miss, but we really enjoyed parking in the village car park on the other side of the river, and then taking a gentle stroll back over the bridge to the cottage. We enjoyed a circular walk from the cottage along the river and right past the most amazing roman ruins. We had one small issue with the cooker which was quickly and courteously resolved by the very responsive and helpful hosts. Much appreciated.
