Harbour Post Box Cottage

A lovely large house close to Amble's harbour. Had everything we needed and street parking was no problem.

Great stay!

We enjoyed a lovely three day break in the Harbour Post Cottage. This is a relatively new listing and the accommodation was spotless, well appointed and good quality bedding and towels. The cottage is very well located for the harbour restaurants and the local shops. Street parking immediately outside was easy. Our party of three adults and one small dog would thoroughly recommend this accommodation,

A super holiday property, modern, comfortable and brilliantly located. We went with our dog and there was plenty of green space outside the door to walk her first thing, so the lack of a garden wasn't a problem. Parking was very easy too. The house is newly renovated so all the rooms are lovely and the master bedroom has its own sitting room with TV. There is one main bathroom but also a very handy cloakroom and toilet downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and modern. Had to figure out the conduction hob but instructions are in the drawer. The kitchen has a cafetiere and the North East Escapes welcome bag was fantastic- fudge, biscuits, tea, speciality coffee, milk and a pack with teatowel and binbags. There were tablets for the dishwasher too. Only thing you need to bring is a casserole dish if you plan cooking family meals, as there is only a lasagne dish in the kitchen. Amble is a lovely, rather untouched harbour town. Very quiet and people are lovely. Lots of restaurants to choose from within walking/short drive . We had a fantastic meal at the Fish Shack- a really characterful restaurant. The Harbour Inn also serves very nice food and we visited Bertram's in Warkworth, which is a gorgeous village. The food was really excellent. Attractions worth a visit include Alnwick Castle and the Lilidorei garden but both are separate and you pay for both of them. The Castle is huge with lots to do and it's an all-day affair. If you are not very mobile, it's a trek to the entrance from the car-park. Bambrugh is also fantastic for beach and castle and village. The Old School Gallery in Alnmouth is worth a visit. Fantastic local art and gifts and great coffee. North East Escapes is a great company to go with. Can't praise them enough. We will be back as we've only explored a small part of this fantastic coastline.
