PERFECT Positive: The property was like home from home, very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable!! The rooms were light and airy. Perfect Location. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

Avoid this property! Positive: Nothing Negative: Do not book this property! Arrived to find it had not been changed over from the previous guests. The beds had not been changed. The bath was filled with wet, used towels. The house was not clean. I phoned the contact number I had been given for North East Escapes. The person I spoke to said she would contact the owner and find out why the house was not prepared and ready. We sat in the smelly living room waiting to be phoned back. After an hour with no contact, I had to phone back again. I was informed that there had been a problem with housekeeping who had not been in to the property. This we already knew by the state of the house. The owner had said she would give us a refund as they couldn't guarantee when a housekeeper would be able to come in and change the beds etc. The person from North East Escapes said she could try getting someone round to clean but she couldn't say when this would be. By this time we had sat waiting in the house for an hour and a half, wasting our time. We had no idea if someone would be round to sort out the mess or not. We were offered the chance to cancel the booking and get a refund. We took this as there was no way we were going to sleep in beds that hadn't been changed. This is the first time I have ever experienced anything like this in all my years of travel. We asked the North East Escapes agent to see if they could offer us any kind of compensation. This was refused. No attempt to help find alternative accommodation. No offer of help. No gesture of goodwill. No. We had apparently 'accepted the offer of a full refund '. I explained this was a necessity and not a positive choice. We have 2 children. We needed somewhere to stay that night and it was already evening. What a terrible experience from start to finish. How an owner can run a business like this I do not understand. Not to even phone and apologise is very poor customer service. I would think twice before booking this property.
