Ceylon @ The Tea Warehouse

First impressions: the property is centrally located very handy for the bus station, a supermarket, the Playhouse, castle etc. but the initial impression on entering the property is the terrible smell. There are strategically placed air fresheners so this problem hasn’t been unnoticed. ‘Ceylon’ is compact but the bedroom has no ventilation so it’s hard to eliminate the smell without propping open the fire door and opening the only window in the sitting room. There isn’t space for a bedside table and the hanging rail/shelf needs to be a foot lower. The kitchen is poorly equipped. I bought a coffee pot and left it there. No ‘welcome pack’, not even a tea bag. No information pack with maps, useful numbers, local places of interest. As the previous owner of a holiday rental on the coast I provided all these things and more. I was wrong to imagine this is normal practice for a holiday rental.

Positive: Fantastically clean and outstanding location. Negative: A bit smaller than expected, especially the bedroom.

The property is excellently situated . It is not large by any means but is good enough for two people. It was very clean and in good repair i.e. everything worked. It has excellent views of Alnwick town centre and the Castle . My only criticism would be that one has to climb two flights of stairs to get to it. We being both in our seventies perhaps should stick more to ground level. Most guests however if younger might appreciate the better view of the town. Quiet despite its location.

Lovely place to stay Had all appliances needed Would have been nice for a few small things like milk or tea bags etc. But no biggy as we just used it to sleep in Amazing shower. My only main issue was the pictures made it look a lot bigger than it was and it was in fact very confined and with the heavy fire doors made it a pain to go in and out of the two rooms But overall great stay
