Stayed in Hayloft cottage for 4 nights with my husband and 2 small Children. The cottage feels a little bit tired in parts and would benefit from some tlc. Missing a few essential too like hand soap and washing up liquid and more than one toilet roll would have been helpful so we didn’t have to go looking for a shop with 2 under 3s after a 4 o’clock check in. The outdoor shared space is lovely and ideal for children. Located in beautiful surroundings and is lovely and peaceful. The little gift bag received on arrival is a nice touch and the voucher for the sausages from the village was very much appreciated.
Fine for our needs, but second bedroom is only just bigger than the bed and the shower was next to a beam, meaning both of us had to do a semi squat in order to get under it! Was reasonable for the cost, and duration of stay, but would have been a bit irritating if we had been there for longer. Lovely area and plenty of extras for families and kids which would have elevated the stay if we’d have brought them.
Extremely enjoyable and very relaxing Positive: It was a really cosy cottage with ample space for two and a lovely welcome pack on arrival. Bamburgh was very accessible by foot. Negative: Car parking could have been better
A great location but the accommodation was a big disappointment! The cottage was much smaller than we anticipated. 2 cramped bedrooms with no storage space apart from a tiny hanging rail in each. I've got no idea where you would hang your clothes if staying for more than a weekend. No drawers, (other than bedside ones) to store anything either. The beds had a ridiculous amount of cushions on them and then no where to put them when we took them off. There was a 3rd "room" which was basically just a dumping ground for the cleaners. Could some drawers or a hanging rail be put in there and make better use of the space? The bathroom was dated, wobbly shelf above the basin and if you're taller than 5ft 7" beware of the beam above the bath or prepare to crouch down to have a shower! Water temperature very temperamental. On the plus side, made use of the hot tub and table tennis table.
