The Hamlet

The apartment has every facility that we could have wanted. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. It is located in a Basement so there is a smell of damp when you first enter. There is a good quality dehumidifier that mitigates the smell and there is no sign of any mould or damp damage (I’m a Building Surveyor). We did open the windows when we could. This is a v minor issue in my opinion that is more than offset by the quality of the apartment. Would highly recommend.

Beautifully presented apartment. Would be very happy to stay here again. Positive: Place was lovely and spacious - with everything as needed. Wi-fi great; plenty of towels provided; TVs massive lol! Was as nice as it was in the pictures. A local shop was about 2/3 minutes away. Easy to find from Metro station and fine to walk into town too (about 10 minutes). Instead of staying in centre of Newcastle this time we booked here as a bit more relaxing, handy to visit the Tynemouth market on Saturday and Sunday (at the Metro station) and for the lovely walks and beaches. Apartment was also beside a park, although we didn't get to walk through it, or get coffee from the Coffee Dock van just at the entrance. Negative: It is advertised with steps down to the door which was not an issue, but you need to open the gate fully (which was a bit stiff) as there is also a large step to the side into the front paved area. The bedroom does not have curtains and the blinds do tend to let a lot of light in - so not great if you want a lie-in. (These would not put me off re-booking to stay here again as place was great.)

We had a lovely time at The Hamlet, which had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. It was well situated for walking into Tynemouth, which we did several times. Would certainly recommend.
