The National Park has taken an active approach to dark sky tourism, encouraging the replacement of yellow sodium lighting with dark-sky friendly LED fittings and working with local businesses to develop astronomy-related activities. Twice Brewed is located on the B6318 Military Road in Northumberland, NE47 7AN. The Once Brewed National Park Visitor Centre is a short walk away and provides information on Hadrian's Wall, the dark sky park and walking routes in the area. Events at the observatory must be booked in advance. The Twice Brewed Inn, adjacent to the visitor centre, is an excellent base with food, accommodation and a convivial atmosphere popular with Wall walkers and visitors. Haltwhistle is the nearest town, approximately five miles west.
